The 2008 National Tour Association Tour Operator Spring Meet begins today at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, and runs through April 4. The event has drawn a 26 percent increase in tour operator attendance this year. The NTA Spring Meet is designed to facilitate product development and continuing education.

National Tour Association Applauds Final Ruling on Land and Sea Rules

The National Tour Association applauds the final rule for the land and sea portion of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative as announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State last week. The rule requires citizens of the United States to have a passport when entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda by land or sea by June 1, 2009.

NTA Organizing Industry-Wide Grassroots Network to Elect a Travel President

NTA is organizing the travel industry’s most comprehensive grassroots network as part of its ongoing efforts this presidential season. Expanding on the association’s existing Grassroots Action Network, NTA is organizing a permanent team of travel and tourism professionals at the state and Congressional District levels, which will help elect a president committed to addressing travel and tourism issues. The complete network will include 55 state chairs and co-chairs and 435 Congressional District coordinators, as well as an appointment for the District of Columbia.
