NTA Mentorship Program

NTA exists not only to help its member grow their businesses, but also to help those in the group travel industry grow professionally as well. Many long-time members of NTA benefitted from the expertise of industry veterans who walked alongside them in their earliest years in the group travel market. That’s why NTA is proud to offer a new mentorship program, where members can either be mentored by an industry veteran, or serve as a mentor to offer their expertise to someone new to the industry.

Mentorships will officially last for a minimum of one year. Each month, the mentor will reach out to the mentee to stay connected and set up a conversation. These conversations will cover a variety of topics that the mentee wishes to learn more about, and will take place via phone or zoom. Before the first conversation, both the mentor and the mentee will be sent resources to help the partnership get off to a strong start.

Criteria for participation in the mentorship program is as follows:

Criteria for mentors:

– Years of total experience in the industry
1. DMO: Ten years of industry experience, 5 specifically as a DMO
2. Tour supplier: Five total years of experience
3. Tour operator: Ten years of experience as an operator
4. Associate: Five years of experience

– Must have attended at least three NTA events
– Must maintain an active NTA membership
– Must read and agree to NTA’s Antitrust statement and Mission, Core Values, and Code of Ethics
– Must complete interest form

Criteria for mentees:

– Must have an active NTA membership
– Must read and agree to NTA’s Antitrust statement and Mission, Core Values, and Code of Ethics
– Must complete interest form
– It is preferred that mentee will have attended at least one NTA event.
