TSA PreCheck Goes Touchless with Google Wallet

Travelers with TSA PreCheck can now move through airport security even faster. Through a partnership between the Transportation Security Administration and Google Wallet, eligible passengers can opt into TSA PreCheck Touchless ID directly within Google Wallet, eliminating the need to present a physical ID or paper boarding pass at select checkpoints.

Previously, Touchless ID enrollment was tied to individual airline frequent flyer programs. With this update, TSA PreCheck members can opt in once through Google Wallet and use Touchless ID across participating airlines, simplifying the process for travelers who fly multiple carriers. The system uses facial recognition technology to verify identity and is currently available at dozens of airports nationwide, with broader rollout underway.

For group travelers and tour operators, this advancement may help streamline airport experiences and reduce checkpoint delays. Travelers must opt in each time they fly, and TSA and Google note that privacy protections are in place, including data encryption and automatic deletion.
