Washington Tourism Alliance Taps NTA Members for Leadership
September 16, 2011
The Washington Tourism Alliance, formed this spring in anticipation of the June 30 closure of the Washington State Tourism office, has selected and elected leaders. Last month, Suzanne Fletcher became the group’s executive director, and this month the WTA charter board of directors elected two NTA members as leaders: Tammy Blount, president and CEO of the Tacoma Regional CVB, is the new WTA chair and Kevin Clark, president and CEO of Argosy Cruises, serves as vice chair.
The board is comprised of 20 tourism professionals from industry segments that include lodging, destination marketing, attractions, restaurants and transportation. Along with Fletcher, their task is to create a strategic statewide destination marketing plan. Fletcher has scheduled nearly a dozen visits throughout the state to gather ideas and information for the grassroots group. For more information, visit the group’s Web site.
