Typhoon Dujuan Targets Hong Kong
Typhoon Dujuan appears to be headed straight for Hong Kong, leading officials to close schools, offices and financial markets, and suspend flights into and out of the territory.
Forecasters say Hong Kong will take a direct hit, making landfall late today after causing major power outages in southern Taiwan. The typhoon may bring wind gusts exceeding 111 miles per hour.
Hong Kong’s flagship air carrier, Cathay Pacific Airways, said it was suspending all inbound and outbound flights Tuesday, and they would remain suspended until Wednesday morning.
