Smithsonian Institution Releases July 4th Hours
If you are a tour operator member and have a trip on the way to Washington, D.C. this weekend, consider the following closing and operating hour information released today from the Smithsonian Institution.

Smithsonian Museum operating hours July 4th:

  • 10 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. – Castle
  • 10 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. – Anacostia Museum
  • 10 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. – All other Smithsonian museums, except for Air & Space and Natural History.
  • 10 a.m.- 8:30 p.m. – Air & Space Museum, Natural History Museum

    In addition to varied museum hours over the holiday, several streets will be closed for the day. Visit NPW.gov for more information on streets.

    Pedestrian access to the Mall Area also will be limited to access only through specific checkpoints including Constitution Avenue and Independence Avenue or outside various intersections. The Smithsonian Metrorail station will be closed at both Mall & Independence Avenue.
