San Francisco Airport Hopes to Attract new Carriers
Officials at the San Francisco Airport announced a plan on Tuesday to lower airport fees as a means of luring more commercial carriers and increasing airport traffic.
According to USAToday.com, if the plan is successful it could possibly lower air fares for travelers and offer more choices for airline travel. The plan calls for a move to add new flights by 50 percent, while cutting landing fees and lowering operating expenses for participating airline companies.
San Francisco airport traffic decreased from 40 million passengers in 2000 to 31 million in 2002.
