Powerful Earthquake Rocks Mexico
A powerful earthquake ripped through the Mexico City area yesterday, killing at least 23 people and injuring 160 others.
According to CNN.com, the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Information Center registered the earthquake at 7.8 on the Richter scale. A quake with a magnitude of 7.0 or higher is capable of widespread damage.
The earthquake was focused near the Pacific Coast around Colima, about 30 miles east-southeast of the city of Manzanillo.
