LA Bureau Chief George Kirkland Dies
George Kirkland, president of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, an NTA member, died yesterday morning of cancer at the age of 60.

Kirkland served as chief of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau for 13 years, continuing his job even with health problems through May of this year. NTA held its Annual Convention in Los Angeles in November 2002.
