Update for travelers in Israel

For our NTA colleagues:

We would like to provide our industry partners with an important update on the current situation in Israel, in light of the ongoing security developments and the recent escalation involving Iran. As an industry leader, I think it is important for you to have the information if any members are reaching out to you.

As of now, Israel’s airspace is closed, and all incoming and outgoing flights have been suspended until further notice. This measure has been taken to ensure the safety and security of all travelers and residents.

However, land border crossings remain open for tourists wishing to exit the country through neighboring countries. We recommend that travelers coordinate directly with their respective embassies and transportation providers for assistance with land departures.

Open Land Border Crossings (Subject to Change):

• Allenby Bridge (to Jordan): 08:00–17:00 (Entry allowed until 14:00)
• Jordan River Crossing (to Jordan): 08:30–18:00 (Entry until 16:30)
• Menachem Begin Crossing (to Egypt/Sinai): Open 24/7 (No change in operation)
• Yitzhak Rabin Crossing (to Jordan): 08:00–20:00 (No change in operation)

Currently, there are approximately 38,000 tourists in Israel. To assist them, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has launched a 24/7 Virtual Tourist Office, offering support in both Hebrew and English through the following platforms:

• 📧 Email: virtual@goisrael.gov.il
• 📱 WhatsApp: +972-53-583-5808
• 📘 Facebook: Israel Virtual Tourist Office

To help facilitate the departure of international tourists, the Ministry of Tourism, under the guidance of Minister Haim Katz, has created a digital registration form for tourists seeking outbound flight options.

This form is being distributed via tourism operators, hotels, tour guides, and industry partners and includes only basic information (name, phone number, and email), in full compliance with privacy protection regulations.

Tourists can register here:
https://govforms.gov.il/mw/forms/TouristEvacuationFromIsrael@tourism.gov.il?displang=en

The Ministry will compile this information into a secure digital vault and share it—only as necessary—with Israel’s National Security Headquarters and Ministry of Transportation to coordinate with airlines on possible departure solutions.

We recognize the uncertainty this moment brings and want to assure you that we are committed to supporting both our visitors and our partners. Your ongoing care for your clients and steadfast partnership in promoting Israel as a destination is deeply appreciated.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help supporting your travelers currently in Israel. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
