White House Resumes Tours
As the war with Iraq nears its end, the White House is reopening public tours of the grounds effective today.
According to CNN.com, the White House is now open for scheduling tours with school, youth military and veterans’ groups. However, all tours must be arranged through congressional offices.
"We are pleased to learn that the White House has resumed its tours for student, youth and veterans groups. It’s wonderful for us as we prepare to welcome visitors to the city for the busy summer travel season and as we work with group tour leaders and meeting planners on their plans to visit the city in the future," said Bill Hanbury, President and CEO, Washington, DC Convention and Tourism Corporation, NTA member.
