TSA Announces Changes in Shoe Screening Procedures
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced this week that travelers should no longer be required to take off their shoes before passing through security detectors.

According to CNN.com, TSA will now only encourage airline passengers to take off their shoes. The change in policy was necessary to allow for consistency in airports across the nation. Travelers who wear shoes with thick soles or metal parts will be encouraged to take off their shoes.
