A hard winter storm is crippling April and making travel difficult today in the Northeast from New York City to Washington, D.C.

According to USAToday.com, New York City is under a winter storm warning today as 5-9 inches of snow is expected in the area. At least 200 flights have been cancelled at La Guardia, JFK and Newark airports combined and the numbers are expected to grow throughout the day.

Snow mixed with sleet and freezing rain may also cause travel delays in areas ranging from Pennsylvania to central New Jersey and even through the western suburbs of Washington, D.C.
