Ontario Government Invests in Tourism
The Ontario government is investing up to $6.8 million to enhance northern travel and tourism marketing efforts.
According to the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), from April 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004, the government will invest $5 million in tourism marketing activities and as much as $600,000 in the six Northern Ontario Travel Associations to support their grassroots partnership efforts. The new investment of funds will integrate northern tourism marketing with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC). The model will also include the establishment of a permanent Northern Marketing Committee as a division of the OTMPC.
