NTA Members Prepare for Hurricane Ike, Faring Well Post-Gustav
Sept. 8, 2008 – As NTA members along the Gulf Coast and in Miami and the Florida Keys prepare for Hurricane Ike, NTA continues to hear promising reports from hotels, attractions, restaurants and destinations in the aftermath of Gustav.

Lynne Coxwell, with the Louisiana Office of Tourism asked NTA to share the following update: "Louisiana is rebounding quite well after Hurricane Gustav. Although Baton Rouge and the Houma-Thibodaux region are still recovering from storm damage and power outages, many areas, such as New Orleans, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Natchitoches, Alexandria, Monroe, and Shreveport, are ready and open for business."

Similar good news also has been passed along to NTA from members in other Gulf Coast areas including Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas.

If you have reports to share with NTA, please e-mail them to Catherine Prather.
