NTA Announces Areas of Interest & Marketing (AIM) Program
March 25, 2004 – Attendees at this year’s Tour Operator Spring Meet will be the first to hear an exciting announcement from NTA. And what better place to introduce a program that is designed to give members smaller communities within the association than in this casual, intimate environment?
NTA’s new program, Areas of Interest and Marketing, or AIM, will give you an outlet to come together, develop content based on your educational needs and help each other with business/industry issues on a detailed level.
We hope this program will:
- Foster member-to-member communication
- Build information channels/resources based on specific needs of specialty groups within the membership
- Support your needs as you expand into new types of business
- Foster member-to-member education
- Provide educational opportunities through research, speakers, etc
The program, set to launch in late April, will begin with six categories:
- Cultural/Life Enrichment Travel
Focuses on experiential travel such as archeological, museum, historic, geological, literary and gardening tours. - Active/Adventure Travel
Focuses on soft and hard adventure as well as active travel such as golf and participatory sport tours. - Self-guided/Independent Travel
Focuses on FIT travel. - Student/Youth Travel
Focuses on travel geared toward the student market. - Affinity/Custom Group Travel
Focuses on group tours such as fall foliage tours and cruises as well as affinity group tours for church or bank groups. - Receptive Services
Focuses on receptive services.
All members, DMOs, tour suppliers and tour operators, will have an opportunity to select one primary AIM and as many others that fit your business. You will be able to use NTA Online, dedicated forums, e-mails, Tuesday and Courier for information focused on each AIM. We also hope to have in-person meeting for each group at the Annual Convention.
As NTA strives to become the association bringing together all buyers and sellers of packaged travel, we want to provide support and education for the expanding interests of our members.
Keep an eye on your e-mail for more information next month.
