House Passes Bill Preventing Implementation of Overtime Rules
September 13, 2004 – On Thursday, September 9 the U.S. House passed, 223-193, the Obey Amendment to the Labor-HHS FY2005 appropriations bill. The amendment prevents the Department of Labor from implementing or administering "any change to regulations regarding overtime compensation with the exception of provisions raising the salary threshold from $8060 to $23,660."
