FAA Reporting Flight Delays Due to Communications Glitch
Aug. 26, 2008 – Several major news outlets are reporting today that the Federal Aviation Administration is experiencing computer problems at a Georgia facility that processes flight plans for the eastern half of the U.S. This failure is causing flight delays at airports across the country.

According to MSNBC, the FAA says there are no safety issues and officials are still able to speak to pilots on planes on the ground and in the air.

At this time, it is not known how many flights are being affected. The FAA reports real-time delays on their Web site at http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyfaa/usmap.jsp.
