Don’t Miss These Exclusive Oklahoma Fam Opportunities
June 30, 2026
Oklahoma is offering exclusive experiences for approved tour operators before and after the main event. From Route 66 to cowboys, native Americans and oil barrens to Choctaw traditions, these pre- and post-fam tours offer a great foundation for building unforgettable itineraries.
From Nov. 12–14 or from Nov. 19–22, tour operators can get an up-close look at the state’s most iconic assets through three uniquely curated tours. These multi-day itineraries are designed for NTA buyers who are registered for Travel Exchange ’26 and are approved in advance by Travel Oklahoma.
Operators opting for the pre-fam tours can choose between two legendary paths through the state:
Route 66: Cruising the Mother Road
Oklahoma boasts the most drivable miles of Route 66, and this tour is packed with “smile able” roadside nostalgia and historic milestones. Highlights include:
- Space City Wonders: A visit to Weatherford to explore the Thomas Stafford museum (dedicated to the hometown astronaut hero) and the 30-foot-tall Route 66 Centennial Monument.
- Classic Americana: An old-fashioned trolley ride in El Reno, complete with a taste of a classic Oklahoma onion burger.
- Insta-Worthy Roadside Icons: A visual feast featuring a Blue Hippo, a historic round barn, a neon bowling alley, and a filling station stocking over 700 varieties of soda.
- Essential History: An impactful visit to the Threatt Filling Station in Luther, a crucial haven for African American travelers during the Jim Crow era.
- Hollywood Connections: A stop in Stroud to see the real-life roadside attraction that inspired the character Sally in Pixar’s Cars.
Cowboys, Native Americans, and Oil Barons
For those looking to dive deep into the diverse heritage, architectural wonders, and sweeping landscapes of the American West, this itinerary delivers majestic overview of the state:
- Western Heritage and Resilience: Immersive storytelling at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, followed by a poignant visit to the memorial honoring the “Oklahoma Standard” born after the tragic events of April 19, 1995.
- Musical and Architectural Marvels: A rhythmic stop at the American Banjo Museum and an exploration of the lavish mansions, masonic temples, and architectural feats funded by Oklahoma’s historic oil boom—including the only realized Frank Lloyd Wright skyscraper!
- Tribal Culture: A profound look at the enduring history and art of 39 First American Nations and the Osage Nation.
- Ranch Life and Pop Culture: A trip to a Food Network star’s emporium, a silver screen tribute museum, and an oil baron’s personal working ranch and wildlife preserve.
Both tours start in Oklahoma City and conclude at the host city. Approved operators should fly into Will Rogers International Airport before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, and fly out of Tulsa International Airport following the conclusion of Travel Exchange.
Operators opting for the post-fam tour will receive a curated journey through Eastern Oklahoma:
- Choctaw/Hochatown: This itinerary highlights unique, group-friendly experiences including indigenous history sites, local Americana, and luxury eco-stays sponsored by Travel Oklahoma.
The post-fam tour registrants should plan to leave from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Nov. 22.
Space is limited on all fam tours. Tour operators will not want to miss this opportunity to preview the top regional attractions firsthand. Visit ntatravelexchange.com/schedule/full-schedule/ to apply.
