Essential Functions
- Develop, maintain and implement the China market strategy to support the NTA’s long-term vision “to be the global packaged travel association.”
- Serve as NTA’s China market expert to both internal and external audiences.
- Manage/oversee the NTA China Inbound Program, and serve as ambassador to participants including frequent personal contact with registered operators.
- Develop China educational programming for NTA members (specifically registered operators) and outbound Chinese travel agents and operators.
- Develop market training, consulting and translation services programs for NTA members and the industry at-large, which also will serve as a revenue generator for the association.
- Serve as liaison to the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Travel and Tourism Office, U.S. Commercial Service, the China National Tourism Administration/CNTO and Brand USA’s China market personnel.
- Collaborate with NTA membership and sales & sponsorship teams on China market strategies.
- Maintain updated NTA Online content for China market programming.
- Work with NTA and NTA Services Inc. on publications related to China market programming.
- Maintain NTA’s WeChat channel and work closely with marketing and communications team to disseminate China market messages/content.
- With the support of NTA’s PR manager, conduct interviews on NTA’s China market efforts.
- Monitor the landscape of the U.S.-China travel market and take action as appropriate.
- Serve as liaison to appropriate leadership committee/s.
- Additional duties as assigned by executive vice president.
Additional Functions
- Prepare reports as requested.
- Budget development and management.
- Contribute articles to Courier and Tuesday as needed.
- Attend China market-related trade shows and NTA events, including Travel Exchange and Contact, as needed.
Position Requirements
- Expert level bi-lingual communications skills (both written and verbal) in Chinese/Mandarin and English.
- Proven leadership and expertise in China market relations.
- Association management, travel industry and/or international business experience.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Bachelors’ degree.
