WHO Says World Will be SARS-Free Soon
In an announcement that brings good news for the travel industry, The World Health Organization (WHO) said today that SARS should be contained worldwide within the next two to three weeks.

According to a report on YahooNews.com, the WHO also indicated Taiwan and Toronto should be given an all clear by the first week in July. However, officials warn that the diseases could re-emerge in China, its original focal point, this winter.

Countries are removed from the WHO’s list of SARS-affected areas when they have made it 20 consecutive days without reporting a new case. The WHO is still clarifying with the Taiwanese government when their last case was isolated.
