What Place Would You Nominate as a Modern Wonder?

Some places are already household names. Others are waiting to be discovered. 

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is inviting travelers around the globe to nominate the Seven Contemporary Wonders of the World—manmade landmarks built since 1801 that have shaped travel, inspired visitors, and strengthened their communities. 

As travel professionals, NTA members know that remarkable places aren’t always the ones that draw the biggest crowds. As WTTC puts it, “Some you already know. Others are waiting in places the world has overlooked—underappreciated wonders, to be discovered.” 

That idea aligns with NTA’s commitment to meaningful travel. By shining a light on lesser-known destinations and cultural treasures, we can help increase visitation, support local economies, and encourage travelers to experience places beyond the traditional must-see list. 

Whether it’s a landmark that’s become the heart of a community or an underappreciated destination ready for the world stage, now is your chance to help tell its story. Nominations are open through Jan. 7, 2027.
