Tourism Cares Announces 2007 Scholarship Opportunities
Feb. 6, 2007 –Tourism Cares has posted the 2007 scholarship opportunities available students studying travel, tourism or hospitality. This year 35 scholarships, including a graduate research grant and an internship, will be awarded. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $3,500 and are open to those in undergraduate or graduate programs.

Scholarship recipients will once again have the opportunity to network and experience the industry courtesy of Tourism Cares’ Experiential Learning program.

According to Bruce Beckham, Executive Director, "Academic scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the Tourism Cares Experience the Industry Student Program at the National Tour Association’s (NTA) annual convention being held in Kansas City, Missouri from Nov 1-6, 2007".

New in 2007, special Experiential Learning Scholarships will be awarded to transport and host students who wish to volunteer side by side with tourism professionals participating in the Tourism Cares for America Restoration Project in Virginia City, Nevada, May 17-19, 2007.

"Tourism Cares is dedicated to these students. They are the future of the travel and tourism industry," added Beckham.
