Strike at Paris Airport Affecting Mainly Domestic Flights
February 17, 2004 – Mainly domestic flights have been affected by a strike of air traffic controllers at Paris’ second-largest airport.
According to USAToday.com, the strike at the Orly airport south of Paris began Monday and is expected to continue until Friday. Traffic at Orly was reduced by 60 percent early Monday, but Paris’ main international airport, Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, was not affected.
Union officials said the strike is aimed at a reorganization that would send most of the 120 Orly air traffic controllers to the Charles de Gaulle airport, leaving only a few ground controllers at Orly.
