NTA Member David O’Gorman Chosen as 2011 MONTAGE Chair
LEXINGTON, Ky. – David O’Gorman of Discover Ireland Tours will serve as the chair of NTA’s 2011 MONTAGE, which will be held in Aberdeen, Scotland, April 12-14. NTA Chairman and CEO Cathy Greteman appointed O’Gorman to the position.
"Highly regarded both within and outside Scotland, David will help us make our 2011 MONTAGE a huge success," said Greteman. "He is a seasoned NTA member and a consistent attendee at our events-he knows what our members expect and will help us deliver."
O’Gorman is founder and owner of Cork, Ireland-based Discover Ireland Tours, which opened in 1989. Discover Ireland Tours primarily serves as a receptive for Ireland and provides sightseeing, performing arts, agriculture and garden tours as well as business tours on the island. Discover Ireland Tours has been a member of NTA since 2002 and has attended every NTA Convention since 2003.
"Joining NTA provided a great leap forward for Discover Ireland Tours, exposed us to a new market, a new business opportunity and, fortunately for us, we did convert much of this business opportunity into solid business," said O’Gorman. "I am thrilled that Cathy asked me to be the chair of MONTAGE next April. Scotland is a great product, and I am sure that NTA and Visit Scotland will provide great business opportunity and while all the time having fun."
MONTAGE is one of NTA’s Business Builder events, and it offers a relaxed and informal networking environment alongside a product development and business component that will open new avenues for increased business.
O’Gorman follows Larry Friedman of the Nevada Commission on Tourism in Las Vegas, Nevada, who chaired the inaugural MONTAGE in Seville, Spain, April 14-17, 2010.
