LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 29, 2016)—The National Tour Association launched a redesigned website yesterday, just in time for the association’s busy year ahead. In 2017 NTA will twice host Travel Exchange, the association’s signature event that attracts member tour operators, travel agents, suppliers and DMOs from North America and more than 40 other countries. The new website will be able to handle the extra load of members lining up for the dual-convention year.

“NTAonline now has an attractive look and inviting vibe, but behind the beauty is its simplicity,” said Pam Inman, NTA president. “Our primary goal with the new website was to create a robust resource that is effortless to navigate.”

The relaunch of the website, NTAonline.com, comes after two years of refining content, mapping user patterns and boosting functionality. NTA worked with Mightily, an award-winning agency in nearby Louisville, to produce a site that’s as appealing as it is useful.

“NTA is 65 years old, and our website had become our storage attic,” said Doug Rentz, NTA’s director of communication and marketing. “With this new site, members can more easily access the information they want—and make the connections they need. That’s especially important with two Travel Exchange dates in 2017.”

NTA is moving its convention to fourth-quarter dates, a change requested by members seeking a more favorable period for planning itineraries. To make the transition, the association will hold Travel Exchange in both the first and the fourth quarters of 2017: St. Louis, Feb. 26–March 2; and San Antonio, Dec. 14–18.

NTA has also unveiled a new brand position, which includes the tagline “Together. We go further.” Rentz said the phrase conveys NTA’s core values—collaboration, professionalism and innovation.

“It defines what we stand for and the promise we make to our members,” he said. “The tagline says to travel professionals that when you join the NTA family, you’re part of a welcoming community for those who seek expanded access to new markets, fresh ideas and valuable business partners.”

Appointment scheduling for Travel Exchange in St. Louis show opens Nov. 1, and Inman talks frequently to members about attending both events in 2017.

“Members have been asking how to handle two conventions,” Inman said. “I tell them the convention cycle will be only slightly shorter. If they miss St. Louis, they’ll go almost two years between this year’s convention and San Antonio. And if they go to St. Louis and not San Antonio, they’ll wait 20 months before Travel Exchange in Milwaukee in November 2018.”
