February 15, 2006 – Preston Griffall, son of Western Leisure CEO and NTA past president Keith Griffall, will compete in the doubles luge competition at the Winter Olympics.

Each team gets two runs in the doubles luge competition, and the lowest combined time wins. The race starts at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Based on the information available on the NBC Web site, the event will not be aired live, but it will be shown during the network’s primetime coverage that begins at 8 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. CT, 7 p.m. MT and 8 p.m. PT.

This morning on NBC’s The Today Show, Matt Lauer and Al Roker met with American luge athletes Mark Grimmette and Brian Martin, to try their own at the doubles luge. To see more of their attempt, visit the Today Show Web site.

Grimmette and Martin have climbed one spot in the standings every four years, taking home a bronze in Nagano in 1998 and a silver in Salt Lake City.

This year, the American team is hoping for the gold. They are the most decorated doubles team in U.S. luge history with 61 international medals and three World Cup championships.
