New Recreation.gov Feature for Tour Operators

July 27, 2026

To address the $100 non-resident fee for international visitors starting Jan. 1, 2026, Recreation.gov has updated its system to allow commercial tour operators to pre-purchase entrance fees and to purchase annual passes for 11 of the most-visited national parks.

To provide an option for international travelers planning to visit multiple parks, the National Park Service introduced the America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass. Available for $250, the pass covers park entrance fees and applicable non-resident fees for the pass holder and eligible accompanying travelers for one year from the date of purchase.

These changes are designed to streamline entry and reduce transaction times at park stations. For more information, visit  External – Commercial Pass Sales on Recreation.gov.

NTA needs feedback from tour and receptive operators as to how these changes are working or not working. Your feedback will be shared with National Park Service officials during our ongoing conversation with them to improve operational initiatives. Please contact NTA President Catherine Prather with your input.
