MONTAGE Plays Host to Representatives from 14 Countries
NTA holds first international meeting in Spain

LEXINGTON, Ky.—Even ash plumes from Iceland’s active volcano couldn’t put a damper on NTA’s newest event, MONTAGE, held April 14-17 in Seville, Spain. The 150 travel industry professionals from 14 countries joined forces to create four days of unforgettable business meetings and partnership.

"MONTAGE truly captured the essence of what NTA provides its members-collaboration with a diverse group of NTA colleagues to create business to, from and within North America," said NTA President Lisa Simon. "The hospitality of our hosts in Seville was immeasurable. We were treated like royalty and shown venues that were intriguing based on both their beauty and deep-rooted history."

The event kicked off in the Royal Alcazar Palace where Christopher Columbus laid out his plans for exploring new worlds. MONTAGE attendees then explored the changing world of the travel industry through discussions on everyday operations and how the evolving economic climate has affected business the past 18 months.

Through workshop appointments and activities that created opportunity to experience the culture and mystique of Seville, attendees were able to network in an intimate environment. Educational sessions focused on social media, green travel and product development for a variety of markets, including India, Africa and China.

"MONTAGE allowed for many more close personal relationships to develop … it allowed for an opportunity to see and learn more about Spain that may not have otherwise happened," said MONTAGE attendee and NTA member Jennifer Slensker of Agape Travel.  "We all know it is easier to sell what you have experienced in person."

Several NTA members sponsored activities during MONTAGE, including the host city and its partners: the Seville Tourism Board, Andalusian Tourism Board, PRODETUR-Provincial Tourism Board of Seville and TOURSPAIN-Spanish Tourism Office of Chicago.??

NTA is the leading association for professionals serving travelers to, from and within North America.
