KatrinaJobs.org Secures Over 5,000 Jobs to Date
October 13, 2005 – The Travel Industry Association of America reports that KatrinaJobs.org is off to an impressive start. The free job bank was created to assist workers displaced by Hurricane Katrina in finding new employment.
TIA says that the job bank has secured more than 5,000 jobs from key participants including Expedia Inc., Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and The Venetian Resort Casino.
Chili’s purchased banner ad space on KatrinaJobs.org through the end of December, and USA Today donated ad space on the front page of the Life section, Destinations and Diversions, in the September 30th edition. They are also placing the KatrinaJobs.org ad on their Web site http://www.usatoday.com/.
The job bank Web site includes a section for postings by both those seeking employment and companies with positions available.
