Far & Wide Travel Corp. Files Chapter 11
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Far & Wide Travel Corp. filed Chapter 11 federal bankruptcy in the Southern District of Florida (Miami). With this bankruptcy filing, Far & Wide’s tour operator membership in the National Tour Association was terminated Sept. 24.
"We regret the hardship and disappointment this sudden bankruptcy has caused," said NTA President Hank Phillips, CTP. "At this time, we need to work quickly to offer resolutions to affected travelers and industry professionals, and we also need to continue to remind travelers of the integrity of the packaged travel industry as a whole."
In light of Far & Wide’s bankruptcy and the negative publicity that will likely result, NTA encourages its members to present a positive message to the public. One member has already offered assistance, and you can go to the NTA Online General Discussion Member Forum to see a message posted by Tauck World Discovery’s Phil Otterson.
