Courier Turns the Spotlight on Cities

November 12, 2014

Courier magazine might be coming soon to a city near you. Starting in January, the official publication of the National Tour Association will add a new feature: City Spotlight.

The magazine’s new monthly feature will provide tour operators with key information from NTA-member cities. Each City Spotlight will assist travel planners by supplying new product updates, great restaurants for groups, insider suggestions for what to include in a full-day’s visit (and how to pace it) plus other tips and ideas.

“One of Courier’s goals is to help tour operators find out about new product and lesser-known local experiences they can use to update and diversify their programs,” said Penny Whitman, editor in chief. “City Spotlight gives us a format to zero in on what’s happening in cities around the world that is relevant and helpful to travel planners.”

Urban destinations slated for City Spotlight coverage in 2015 range from mid-America (Oklahoma City and St. Louis) to Philly and the Big Apple, and from Canada (Calgary and Québec City) and Europe (Zermatt, Switzerland) to the U.S. West (Las Vegas and San Francisco). The 2015 spotlight will also shine on international capitals: Prague, London and Washington D.C.

Courier’s print and digital editions are distributed to NTA members, and links to its digital editions are shared with tour and travel professionals industrywide. Original articles deliver association, updates on tourism trends and best practices, and reports on travel product from tour operator, supplier and destination members worldwide.
