Collaboration, Communication, Technology Drive Discussion During NTA All Network Call

July 20, 2026

NTA hosted its second All Network Call of the year on July 15 with nearly 100 tour operator, tour supplier and DMO members joining the conversation.  After an initial greeting and instructions, the group split into seven breakouts to answer three discussion questions.

Across all of the breakout groups, three consistent themes emerged:

  • Relationships remain the foundation of the travel industry: Members repeatedly emphasized that collaboration between tour operators, DMOs, tour suppliers, attractions, and receptive operators creates stronger itineraries, better customer experiences, and more business opportunities.
  • Communication and operational coordination need improvement: Participants cited challenges with supplier communication, hotel attrition policies, last-minute booking trends, staffing turnover, and ensuring front-line staff know when groups are arriving. Better communication before and during tours was a recurring recommendation.
  • Technology is helping—but people still come first: While AI remains an important topic, members are equally focused on practical technology such as mobile apps, CRM systems, project management tools, analytics, cybersecurity, and automation that improve operations while maintaining personal relationships.

Across all discussion groups, there was remarkable consistency in the feedback: strong relationships remain the industry’s greatest asset; better communication between operators, DMOs, suppliers, and attractions will improve both operations and customer experience; flexibility is increasingly important as traveler behavior shifts toward later booking and greater customization; and technology is becoming essential for efficiency, but members overwhelmingly believe that trust, collaboration, and personal connections continue to drive success.

Overall, the discussions reinforced that NTA’s greatest value lies in bringing together diverse membership categories to share knowledge, solve common challenges, and build lasting business relationships.
