Advance Ticket Sales to Statue of Liberty Begins Today
July 22, 2004 – Advance ticket sales to the Statue of Liberty begin today. Reservations can be made by calling 1-866-STATUE 4 (1-866-782-8834) or tickets may be purchased at the Ferry Ticket Offices. Beginning in September, visitors will also be able to make reservations online.

Secretary of the Interior Gale A. Norton announced that the monument will reopen on August 3, 2004. Visitors will be offered a special insiders’ view of the Statue through a glass ceiling, guided by a park ranger and an enhanced lighting and new video system. Visitors will also once again be able to walk out onto the Statue’s observation deck to see the panoramic views of New York City and the Harbor, and witness the Statue up close from her promenades on Ft. Wood.
