NTA Board Acts to Assist Membership with Economy; Reduces 2009 Membership Dues

The National Tour Association Board of Directors has approved decreasing membership dues for 2009 in order to assist its members during the current economic crisis. Members will receive a nearly 15 percent deduction in their membership dues, thanks in part to the tremendous growth the association experienced in 2008.

Seven Countries to Join U.S. Visa Waiver Program Next Month

Last Friday, U.S. President George W. Bush outlined the upcoming expansion of the Visa Waiver Program. By mid-November, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and South Korea will be added to the program, which allows citizens from approved countries to travel to the United States for stays up to 90 days without first obtaining a visa.

Oct. 14, 2008 – The Ypartnership and PhoCusWright have just released the NEXTgen Traveler(TM) survey revealing the Internet habits of self-proclaimed tech-savvy travelers. These travelers are those who claim to use the most current computers and gaming and entertainment technology. According to the survey, seven out of 10 of this type of traveler uses the Internet to search for information about travel experiences and travel service suppliers.
