Krieg was described in her nominations as "joy-filled" with a contagious smile, and someone with a positive outlook who consistently offers to help NTA in any way she can. She has served as a representative on both the NTA Board and the Leadership Team and is a perennial volunteer at all NTA events.

"For all of you who love this association as much as I do, I thank you for being here today to participate in this great opportunity to be with family and to do business and to just have a good time," said Krieg while accepting the award. "I thank you so much, I so appreciate it — and I am so surprised!"

Based on a member’s contributions to the association, the Volunteer of the Year Award is nominated by the NTA Leadership Team and staff and is then chosen from those nominations by the NTA Board of Directors.
