August 2, 2005: Volume 25; Issue 24
This is the third installment of Chris’ Corner, a series of articles that will appear in Tuesday leading up to Annual Convention, in which 2005 Convention Chair Chris Shepler shares his thoughts.
One of my favorite things at NTA Convention is Michigan Rocks for Tomorrow – formerly Michigan Rocks the Foundation. As many of you know, the National Tourism Foundation became part of the consolidated organization Tourism Cares for Tomorrow, which now presents this marquee Convention event. We’re set for Saturday night, Nov. 5, to get down to the Motown sound!
No matter what group puts on this event, it is always a lot of fun. The music is great, unlike my dancing, but I still love cutting loose a little. The fact that the proceeds go to help fund things like scholarships for students is a major bonus. One of the exciting things this year is that we’re headed back to the Hard Rock Café. The Hard Rock is such a cool place and is the perfect venue for Michigan Rocks for Tomorrow. So bring your dancing shoes and mark your calendar – this is really a night you can’t afford to miss. This great event brings good friends together as well as benefits the scholarship program for Tourism Cares.
So, make sure you sign up right away for what will be another rockin’ edition of this must-attend event. Tickets are available on the Tourism Cares Web site. Oh, and while you are there, go ahead and donate an item to one of the Tourism Cares auctions to be held at Annual Convention.
See you on the dance floor!
Better Business. Better Be There.
