A TREX 2020 update

Today was the day we had planned to open registration for Travel Exchange in Reno Tahoe, but like nearly everything else in this world, our plans have been put on hold.

No matter how eager we are to (safely) mix and mingle again, we recognize that this is not the time to launch registration. It’s likely that you need time to determine when you can resume business travel, and we all need time to see how things fall back in place again after this horrid virus has passed.

But that doesn’t mean we’re motionless. We’re scanning the horizon, researching solutions, and brainstorming ideas. What we hear from members—and know from experience—is that travel people are face-to-face folks. Zoom and Hangouts are OK for meeting during these difficult times, but your business is built on relationships, and it’s vital that NTA members get together again.

So we’re considering a range of possibilities, each one based on when and how the pandemic eases and travel resumes … or undergoes further delays. NTA staff members have long been highly rated event planners, and now we’re scenario planners, as well.

But know this: Your NTA staff has the dexterity and the ingenuity to configure a Travel Exchange event that meets the needs and availability of members. We can’t say now exactly how it will look, but we can promise that we’ll build a show that maximizes interactions and opportunities for those who attend. We know that Travel Exchange will include guidance from experts and input from peers—all geared to help you navigate the upcoming challenges and rewards of the packaged travel industry.

So stay tuned. Plug in to NTA’s communication channels—Tuesday, NTA Online, Engage, and Courier—and be ready when we roll out information about Travel Exchange 2020. It may not be business as usual, but it’ll be the business connections and resources that you need.
