Pittsburgh Offers NTA Tour Operators "Bargains in the ‘Burgh"
LEXINGTON, Ky. – VisitPittsburgh is offering an incentive for tour operators attending the 2008 NTA Annual Convention, Nov. 15-19. This year’s host has created the "Bargains in the ‘Burgh" rebate program, which pays up to $2,200 if tour operators bring groups back to Pittsburgh by Dec. 30, 2010.
"I commend VisitPittsburgh for this creative enticement that gives NTA tour operator attendees yet another reason to attend this year’s event," said NTA Chairman and CEO Bob Hoelscher, CTP. "NTA Convention host cities benefit from the tremendous exposure they have with NTA tour operators. Rebate programs such as this will further assist Pittsburgh in spurring additional visitors to the area over the next two years."
The rebate Pittsburgh created is based on a sliding scale of room nights secured by tour operators and their clients.
Also, tour operators who participate in NTA’s signature Tour & Travel Exchange are eligible for a post-Convention rebate from NTA up to a maximum of $650 for combined travel and lodging expenses, including their registration fee.
The NTA Annual Convention brings together the most diverse buyers and sellers in the industry. More than 400 tour operators are expected to attend this year. These tour companies are continually looking for new product development ideas for their clients, as well as new ways to look at destinations.
"Pittsburgh will be rolling out the red carpet for attendees in November," added Hoelscher. "During their visit, the city will show these companies why they should bring their customers to the area through pre-and-post- Fam and sightseeing tours. These conference excursions will assist tour operators in product development and further motivate them to take advantage of Pittsburgh’s unique rebate program. "
