Online Courier content easier to read, share
September 18, 2018
NTA’s Courier magazine is now online. This month the flagship publication of the National Tour Association launched a dedicated website, NTAcourier.com, making the magazine’s coverage of NTA-member destinations and tour products available to a broader audience.
Beginning with a soft launch Sept. 4, NTAcourier.com offers readers original articles published in the magazine in 2017 and 2018.
“Since it began in 1974, Courier has been considered an exclusive benefit for NTA members,” said Bob Rouse, Courier editor in chief. “But it’s even more beneficial that members’ stories can now be viewed by the traveling world.”
Rouse said that along with the new website, Courier has expanded its social media presence. The magazine created new accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, all with the same handle: NTAcourier. The Courier team will use the social media platforms to push followers to articles on the new website.
NTAcourier.com contains original content about destinations, attractions and experiences plus first-person coverage of tours, along with articles and essays from industry experts and association members. Readers can search NTAcourier.com by destination, experience or issue.
While articles are generally aimed at an audience of tour operators and other travel planners, any reader who travels can readily appreciate the descriptions and images of destinations and itinerary ideas.
It’s a new level of member service, according to NTA Services President Kami Risk.
“We’ve always helped our members focus on business-to-business relationships, but by posting Courier articles online and pushing them through social media, we can help members take their message straight to colleagues and consumers alike,” she said.
Risk added that Courier advertisers will be able to increase their exposure to NTA’s tour operators—and to the traveling public—by expanding from their current print presence to include a digital connection to online articles and a social media boost.
