WTM Heralded as One of the Best
November 17, 2003 – The buzz at this year’s World Travel Market in London was one of renewed optimism. NTA representatives attended the show, which took place Nov. 10-13.
"This year’s show was much better in terms of traffic and interest," said Ed Hall, CTP, of Greater Rochester (N.Y.) Visitors Association, who represented NTA at WTM along with Jennifer Allen, NTA director of Marketing.
"I see more optimism for short- and long-term recovery," Hall said. "A lot of people we met with talked about looking for new destinations or new twists on established destinations, which is encouraging for our DMO membership."
Hall, who also served as NTA’s Member Value Council chair, and Allen promoted NTA tour operator receptive services into North America and recruited international members.
"The (NTA) tour operator receptive services directory flew off the shelves during Monday and Tuesday’s Meridian Club days, with people actively seeking new business partnerships," Hall said.
NTA also had 144 members attending WTM this year.
"Exposing all segments of the association to the dynamic European marketplace via WTM brings real value to all membersegments," Hall concluded.
