U.S. Citizens Urged to Avoid Travel to Algeria
The U.S. Department of State is urging U.S. citizens to carefully consider traveling to Algeria due to random attacks in remote areas, on public transportation outside the major cities and in some parts of the country at night.

Americans who choose to visit Algeria should avoid nighttime and overland travel. U.S. visitors should also arrange for pre-determined local contacts to meet and accompany them at the Algerian airport. Travelers to the area are advised to stay in the large, internationally recognized hotels where security is provided.
