Travel to Canada Rebounds as U.S. Visitors Increase
August 20, 2004 – Canada experienced a rebound in travel in June, as it witnessed the first increase in visitors from the United States in the last four months.

According to the Travel Industry Association of Canada, an estimated 3.3 million visitors came to Canada in June, up one percent from May when travel from abroad declined. This increase is primarily attributed to a 1.2 percent rise in travelers from the United States. Nine out of every 10 visitors to Canada in June were U.S. residents.

Approximately 1.5 million Americans made same-day car trips to Canada, the first increase since February.
