Support the SAVE Act: Contact your U.S. Representative

October 7, 2021

Your company may be able to receive federal funds through the $16 billion Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program. A bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, H.R. 2120, the Securing Access for Venue Equity (SAVE) Act, would expand eligibility to include travel businesses that had put people in seats in live-performance venues prior to the pandemic. NTA would like to thank Rep. Mark Amodei of Nevada for sponsoring the legislation, as well as all of the co-sponsors.

NTA must keep applying pressure, though. We’re asking members who did not previously reach out to your representative to do that now and ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 2120, as you are in the best position to explain that, just like the venues eligible for SVOG funds, tour companies like yours have also suffered significant economic loss during the pandemic. (See the current list of co-sponsors here.) Our industry voice gets louder each time a representative hears from us, so contact yours today. And If you reside in the district of a member of the Small Business Committee, which has jurisdiction over the bill, be sure to contact them and urge them to hold a committee hearing on H.R. 2120 and enact the bill into law. Look here to see who’s on the committee.

Our team at Elevate has secured meetings for us with the offices of Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Sen. Tim Scott to discuss the SAVE Act and a possible Senate companion bill. We appreciate those members who have provided other connections to their representatives and senators that are helping us gain traction.
