Poll Shows Americans Still Plan to Travel in 2003
A newly released independent poll of Americans shows that despite continuing economic troubles and national security concerns, the majority of Americans plan to travel far from home in 2003 for business and leisure.
The Travelocity survey indicates that of those who have made plans for 2003, 85 percent will travel and nearly half would travel despite heightened homeland security concerns. Travelocity’s research also reveals nearly 30 percent of survey participants will travel with families in 2003, versus other types of vacation activities. Additionally, 50 percent of respondents plan on taking a combination of short and long trips in 2003.
The random phone survey of 1,000 Americans was conducted in December 2002.
