Pilots Fight to Carry Weapons in Cockpits Soon
Yesterday, pilots across the country conducted press conferences in an attempt to speed up the government program designed to help them carry guns in airline cockpits.
According to a report on TWCrossroads.com, members of pilot associations such as the Airline Pilots Security Alliance and the Allied Pilots Association are accusing the Transportation Security Administration of intentionally trying to slow down the program. However, TSA administrator James Loy said they are moving rapidly with the plan, as hundreds of pilots are already trained or scheduled for training classes.
Currently, less than 150 pilots are certified to carry a weapon on the plane.
