NTA Research Center Goes Green
Aug. 18, 2008 – As one of the many ways NTA is greening its Convention, 2008 Convention delegates can expect some changes to the Research Center. Based on a recommendation from the Pittsburgh WOW Task Force, the brochure library will be eliminated from the Research Center and replaced by more computers.

Fewer and fewer tour operators are printing brochures these days, choosing instead to utilize their Web site for that information. Additionally, more members are using the computers in the Research Center much more than the library of operator brochures. For both of these reasons, and to save on the carbon emissions of printing and shipping the brochures from the operators to NTA as well as to Pittsburgh and back, the task force decided to eliminate the brochure library from the Research Center.

This year, the Research Center will have more computers, including ones designated for research to prepare for appointments and for printing updated appointment schedules. The Research Center also will have copiers, and offer a quiet library-like atmosphere to prepare for appointments.
