NTA Pioneers Convention Enhancements
May 17, 2007 –NTA listens. And it’s your input and the volunteer leadership that keeps NTA current with your needs and the changing business environment. This approach has helped NTA be a pioneer among travel associations – with many "firsts" in its storied history.
That pioneering spirit lives on with a change in the Annual Convention’s Tour & Travel Exchange® and two new programs that will greatly enhance your ability to get better business from NTA.
- Destination Pavilion – NTA tour operators have told us they want more time with destinations, and they want the opportunity to shop new product ideas by region. More time to develop product within a destination results in more leads for destinations and suppliers alike. NTA has taken the DMO workstations and grouped them by region in the new Destination Pavilion. On Friday afternoon, operators will have time set aside to browse and develop product in a relaxed setting, providing yet another business opportunity.
- Buyer-to-Buyer Exchange – While NTA pioneered the "Speed Dating" business concept for operators, we have taken that a step further. NTA is bringing the Tour & Travel Exchange® format to operators in this special session on Friday morning. Operators will be able to preschedule appointments and buy and sell from each other. Another added feature is that NTA will be inviting professional travel buyers – like travel agents, bank and educational travel planners – to join us is this unique setting. NTA, with this addition, is giving tour operators more opportunity to sell at Convention and suppliers and destinations also will benefit from the new partnerships and product needs created by this Exchange.
Additionally, 7-minute DMO business appointments are back . As always, NTA asked members their opinions and responded accordingly. Overall, members wanted to return the DMO Exchange to the seven-minute format with no option for consecutive appointments. So, this year’s DMO appointments will return to the original format.
More detailed information on these new programs will be coming your way on the Convention Web site and Tuesday. Plus, you’ll be seeing the NTA Convention registration brochure hit your desks this week with more information on why Kansas City is a can’t miss!
