NTA Convention Education to Offer Advice on Troubled Economy
Oct. 7, 2008 – NTA, like most of you, has been monitoring the financial crisis closely. As always, NTA strives to bring its members timely and relevant information and education. That is why we have made some adjustments to the 2008 NTA Annual Convention seminar schedule to address this critical topic.
NTA is pleased to present two educational sessions in Pittsburgh featuring Dr. Peter Tarlow, president of Tourism and More. Dr. Tarlow is an expert in tourism and economic development.
In the first session, "It’s a Global World: What Tourism Needs to Do to Stay in Front of These Economically Challenging Times," Dr. Tarlow will look at what destinations, hotels, restaurants, attractions, and tour operators may need to do in these challenging times. In his second session, "Best Practices: When the Economy is Down, It’s Time for You to be Up!," Dr. Tarlow will look at past tourism crises and how various destinations have overcome these negative moments. The session will aid travel and tourism professionals in looking at best practices of the past as tools to face the problems of tomorrow.
Additionally, NTA wants you to pass along your knowledge, expertise and past experiences to help other NTA members during the current economic situation. Visit theNTA member forums to share your thoughts on the October Question of the Month.
