NTA celebrates lift in pre-departure testing requirement
June 10, 2022
Today, the Biden administration will announce the lifting of the pre-departure testing requirement for inbound air travelers to the United States, effective June 12.
The change comes after many months of advocating for a reversal of this and other COVID-related policies. With NTA members actively operating international inbound and outbound travel, NTA President Catherine Prather has joined other industry professionals to meet with leaders in Washington to help accelerate the recovery for the travel industry, and easing testing requirements has been a key issue for members.
“It was one of the main topics of conversation during our meetings with international buyers and NTA members during IPW earlier this week,” Prather says. “This helps immensely with our U.S.-based members working with the international inbound market. This also is welcomed news to NTA tour operators and their partners packaging travel outbound from the United States as Americans returning home will have more confidence with this travel.”
